River Park Square_entryPlymouth Park Board members were updated on a park project that will be submitted with the Countywide Stellar application.

During Tuesday’s meeting Park Superintendent Mike Hite said a conceptional project is phase II of River Park Square which could include a playground, the Greenway Trail through the park with lights and jump-outs.

Park Board President Dave Morrow asked about an ice skating rink that was originally going to be in the park.  While working on next year’s budget that ice skating rink was pulled from the 2020 budget.

Hite said he didn’t see it in the plans but nothing is set in stone at this point and it could be added in during the final phase of the grant application process.

RiverParkSquare_1City Attorney Sean Surrisi and a Stellar committee member said the project was put together to develop rough budget numbers for the state and to help determine a estimated local match.  He said if the county receives the Stellar designation the next year would be set aside to develop the plan and create the construction drawings for the project.  The park board would have full input in setting the scope of project.
