Plymouth Color Logo2014During last week’s budget review by Plymouth Common Council members were told with the estimated revenues there needs to be $962,000 cut from the requests for 2020.

Clerk Treasurer Jeanine Xaver told member there were a few dormant funds that have balances that she could move into the General Fund to help meet the needs of the 2020 city budget.

At Monday night’s regular Common Council meeting the city attorney presented a resolution that transfers those dormant funds into the General Fund as allowed by law.  The dormant funds have unused and unencumbered balance and the total of all 10 funds was just over $1 million.

During the meeting Xaver told council members major cuts wouldn’t have to happen to next year’s budget.   Following the meeting she told WTCA while there are enough funds to meet the request, there will still be cuts made to the budget requests for next year.
