Plymouth High School students participating in the Construction Technology program offered through the North Central Area Vocational Cooperative program are putting the finishing touches of this year’s house build. Currently there are 11 PHS students who make up this year’s second semester of the program. However, all together students from ten nearby school corporations can enroll in the Construction Technology program.
This year’s house build is in Tall Oaks subdivision at 2455 Hillcrest in Plymouth. The Construction Tech program is offered twice a day and runs a little over 2-hours long. The house is 2,100 square feet with a full basement, front and back porches, and has 3 ½ baths, four bedrooms and a three car garage. The money raised outside of the cost of construction materials will go back to the program for next year’s house build.
Instructor Craig Schoof, who is in his third year of teaching the program, said a public open house is scheduled for Sunday, June 2 from 1-3 p.m. This year’s house is priced at $325,000. However, it is already off the market because it has been sold.
