The Mayor’s Youth Council in Plymouth is inviting the community to participate in the beautification projects that will be taking place this Saturday, May 11th.  The projects are in recognition of Arbor Day.

The events officially begin at 10:30 at River Park Square and include spread landscaping rocks in the park, tree planting at Centennial Park as well a cleaning up in the various city parks and along downtown streets.  During the Farmers’ Market there will be a shoe drive hosted by the Recycle Depot.  Bring any shoes, any size, any condition for Changing Footprints. They will be donated to other non-profits or recycled through Nike Grind.

Griffin Nate, President of the Mayor’s Youth Council said they are anticipating 50 to 75 volunteers but anyone and everyone can help out.  You are asked to dress appropriately for the weather and working conditions and gloves might be a good idea, if you have them.

Lunch will be served to those who volunteer.
