Primary ElectionsIt’s Primary Election Day and voters in Bourbon, Bremen, Culver and Plymouth will go to the polls today from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and vote for the candidates in their party that they want to appear on the General Election ballot in November.

In Bremen there is a race on the Republican ticket for the 4-At-Large seats with 6 candidates.  Those candidates are Bill Daily, Rick Garverson, James Leeper, Michael Leman, Barb Sauter and Michael Venable.

In Bourbon there is a race on the Republic side for 2-At-Large Town Council Seats.  There are three candidates; Ward Byers, Philip Hanley and Larry Wattenbarger for the two seats.

In Culver there is a race on the Republican Ticket for the 3-At-Large seats on the council.  Four candidates; Robert Cooper, Ginny Bess Munroe, Judy Price Reynolds and Sally Ricciardi have filed for the seats.

In Plymouth there are two races, for mayor and the 3-At-Large council seats.  Incumbent Mayor Mark Senter has been challenged by Ben Fisher on the Republican ticket for the mayors position.  The second race is for the 3-At-Large seats on the City Council.  The Republicans have four candidates for the three seats: incumbent Bill Walters, Burke Richeson, Nick Fisher and Greg Compton.

Registered voters in the Plymouth Community School Corporation district will also have to opportunity to vote for the school operating referendum. The school corporation is asking for up to $.19 cents per $100 of assessed valuation for 8 years.  The referendum will help fund student safety initiatives, mental health support and programs and attracting and retaining teachers with pay raises.

The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and voters can vote in any of the vote centers in the county: in Bourbon at the Matchett Center at 805 North Harris Street; in Bremen at Bremen High School at 511 West Grant Street; in Culver at the Culver Depot at 615 E. Lakeshore Drive and in Plymouth at the National Guard Armory 1220 West Madison Street, the Knights of Columbus Hall at 901 East Jefferson Street or at the Pretty Lake Church 8985 State Road 17.
