An early morning traffic stop for disregarding a stop sign lands a Plymouth man in the Marshall County Jail.

Thursday morning, May 16th at approximately 4:15 an officer with the Plymouth Police Department observed a vehicle disregarding the stop sign at Jackson Heights Road and South Michigan Street. 

The officer conducted a traffic stop at Michigan and Oakhill and discovered that the driver, Daniel Antonio Torres, 35, of North Broadway Street in Plymouth had never been issued a valid driver’s license.  Torres was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail.  He was booked for operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license at 5:19 a.m. and released on a cash bond at 5:46 a.m.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
