County News # 1With the recent announcement by INDOT that Marshall County was awarded a $997,500 grant from the most recent round of Community Crossings grants, the commissioners motioned last Monday to allow Kevin Overmyer, President of the Commissioners to sign the five grant contracts for road projects this year.

Projects approved for the Community Crossings Grant are North Michigan Road from the Plymouth City Limits north to Veteran’s Parkway ($273,000); 11th Road from South Michigan Road to U.S. 31 ($159,000);  Dogwood Road from State Road 331 to U.S. 6 ($203,000); Dogwood Road from U.S. 6 north to the county line ($433,000) and 9B Road from Union Road to the County Line on the west side of Marshall County ($262,000).

The total project cost is $1,330,000 with $997,500 being awarded under the Community Crossings Grant, Marshall County’s share, 25% will be $332,500.
