Vietnam Moving WallMembers of the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall Committee met Wednesday evening in a conference room of City Hall.

The 260 foot wall, updated with at total of 58,307 engraved names will be in Marshall County and Plymouth from Thursday afternoon, September 12th through Sunday, September 15th.  Bringing the moving tribute to the Vietnam Veterans is not a small undertaking.  In fact, there are a number of requirements and a substantial financial commitment.

The cost just to bring the wall to town is $8,000 plus pay for the truck driver along with four nights in a motel and all meals.  Additional costs will cover landscaping, 24 hour security, lighting, tent rental, first aid, supplies during the four days including tissues, water, tracing papers, golf carts, trash collectors and much more.  It’s estimated that $25,000 to $28,000 needs to be raised to cover all expenses.

The committee is currently working to raise the needed funds by seeking donations from various organizations, businesses and individuals.  Anyone wishing to donate can write a check to American Legion Post 27, notate Vietnam Memorial Wall and mail it to PO Box 270, Plymouth, IN 46563.  Donations are tax deductible.
