pitcountThe Marshall County 2019 Point In Time (PIT) Count, will be taking place on January 23rd.

The PIT Count is extremely important as it provides data to Congress, the state of Indiana and Marshall County nonprofits, service agencies, churches and faith-based organizations about the number and characteristics of the Homeless population in Marshall County. Accuracy of the Count also determines funding for agencies that receive funding to assist the homeless. This PIT Count is not only important for those that receive funding but to every agency, shelter, church and provider of various social and supportive services in our county’s communities.

While Marshall County is still working to verifying PIT Count survey locations there is a need for survey volunteers are needed.

As with last year, the PIT Count survey locations will have gift bags that contain basic hygiene supplies to hand out as a simple but meaning-full “thank you” to PIT Count participants.

We will have survey forms for IHCDA data purposes, as well as a survey form with more Marshall County specific questions. Most surveys take as little as 5-10 minutes to fill out per PIT Count participants.

The IHCDA will be conducting two webinars next week, 1-9-19 at 10 a.m.  and 1-11-19 at 1 p.m. to guide all volunteers through the PIT Count survey taking process. Only volunteers who attend a webinar may help take PIT County Surveys.
