Rees_Donna thermoterThe ability for this community to reach a goal became even clearer Monday afternoon after it was announced that The REES Theatre Project was within $150,000 of its $1.5 million goal.

“This definitely puts us within striking distance of receiving the entire $300,000 Regional Cities matching grant.” said co-chair Randy Danielson.  Donna Pontius the other co-chair had the honors of raising the bar Monday morning following an executive committee meeting and confirming totals with the Marshall County Community Foundation.

This level reflects a cumulative total of funds from cash donations, pledges and in kind gifts of services and materials.

“If you wish for your family name, business or industry to be a attached to the success of this great endeavor to re-establish The REES as something grand and for this community to long be proud of, then now is the time to act.” said Danielson.

“Let’s not let any black cats, ghosts or goblins keep us from meeting this challenge.  This gets us over another hurdle as we make our way to our overall goal of 3.46MM for construction costs and funding The REES Endowment.” added Pontius. 

Fundraising will continue throughout the remainder of 2018 and into 2019 in an anticipated re-opening the spring of 2020, the 80th anniversary of The REES.
