property_taxDo you understand how property tax is distributed and local government budgeting is conducted?  Purdue Extension will be holding a statewide program on the state of the property tax on Wednesday, October 10, from 11 am to 1 pm. This webinar is free.  It can be viewed at Purdue Extension Marshall County Office, 112 W. Jefferson Street, Room 304 of the Marshall County Building, Plymouth.

This is an excellent program for all individuals involved in local government budgeting including county councils, commissioners, mayors, city councils, town boards, school boards etc.  The 2018 data is in and now it’s time to take a look at the state of property taxes in Indiana.  This On Local Government program will explore trends in assessed values, levies, and tax rates statewide.  What kinds of property values are growing or declining, and where?  Which levies and tax rates are rising or falling?  How have the circuit breaker tax cap credits changed?  Larry DeBoer, Purdue Ag Economics Professor and Tamara Ogle, Regional Educator Community Development will explore these questions and more.

This program will be streamed live and can be viewed from multiple host sites across the state with Marshall County Extension Office being one or you can watch it from your personal computer. To register or have questions answered contact a host site 574 935-8545 ryoder@purdue.edu or visit www.cdext.purdue.edu/.
