communitycrossingsJason Peters, Marshall County Highway Supervisor presented the County Commissioners with the prioritized list of projects applied for through the Community Crossings Grant program.

First on the list is Dogwood Road from US6 north to the Saint Joseph County Line.  Projected cost is $433,000 with the county’s share being $108,250.  The second project is 11th Road from US31 to South Michigan Street.  Total project cost is $159,000 with the county’s share being $39,750.

The third project on the county’s Community Crossings application is North Michigan Road from the Plymouth city limits north to Veterans Parkway.  Estimated cost for this project is $273,000 and the county will have to pay 25% or $68,250.  The fourth project is the other side of Dogwood Road, from State Road 331 north to US 6 at a cost of $203,000 with the local share at $50,750 while the final project is 9B Road between Union Road and the Starke County line.   This project is anticipated to cost $262,000 and the county’s portion will be $65,500.

INDOT will review each project separately and make a determination if it meets their requirements.  Awards are expected in November with project to begin in the spring of 2019.
