County News # 1The Marshall County Board of Finance, made up of the three county commissioners and the county treasurer meet Monday morning in a quick meeting to accept the request for proposals for consideration for Marshall County’s cash management system for 2019 and 2020.

Seven financial institutions submitted proposals: 1st Merchants Bank in Bourbon, Teachers Credit Union, 1st Farmers Bank in Culver, Centier Bank, 1st Source Bank, 1st Federal Savings Bank and Lake City Bank.

The Board of Finance will meet again on October 15th after reviewing the proposals and make their determination on who will handle the county’s finances for the next two years.

It was noted that just following the meeting, about 8:05 a.m. a representative from PNC Bank in Plymouth presented their proposal request.  Treasure Angie Birchmeier said all the other financial institutions had their proposals in by Friday.  While the proposal was accepted, it will not be opened or considered since it was late.
