The nationally renowned Niles Scream Park is ready to officially start autumn by scaring the “yell” out of you with seven different haunted attractions. This year marks the 45th consecutive year of their annual fright festival. The gates will squeak open on Friday, September 14th, and be open on the remaining Fridays and Saturdays in September. Beginning in October, the Park will be open all weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) plus Wednesday, October 31st. And don’t forget their Black Out event–only on Friday, November 2nd and Saturday, November 3rd.
The Niles Scream Park is not just scary, it is considered by many to be one of the top haunted attractions in the country. Certainly one of the largest, the Niles Scream Park offers 44 acres of blood-curdling fear! Unlike other haunted houses, Niles rebuilds each room of all three interior haunted houses each year to provide you with completely new and unique shows. The professionally designed sets and ingenious scare-tactics led the Niles Scream Park to be recognized by Haunted Attraction Magazine as one of the “Top 31 Must-See Haunted Attractions” nationwide for the last five years running!
For those with the courage to tour all seven attractions, here is the line-up for 2018:
Niles Haunted House – The largest and most popular of their attractions. It’s the one that has been with them since the beginning! Before you even get to the massive house, you must make your way along a long, winding path with shaky bridges over dark ponds, foggy paths through trees and a completely blacked out guard building.
Once you get into the house, there are over 100 different paths through the attraction and it’s impossible to see it all with less than seven trips. Each year the rooms, theme, sound effects and scares are changed to provide a fresh show. After you’ve make it through the House, you still have to survive the “rear swamp” which also has many scares and monsters to frighten patrons.
Grimm’s Funeral Services – BREAKING NEWS: Long time mortician and owner of Grimm’s Funeral Home, Dr. Adam Grimm, was apprehended earlier this evening on suspicions of his involvement with the Stillwater Killings. Over the course of the past three months, nine victims attended funeral services at Stillwater Cemetery on the day they were murdered. Early reports indicate that screams were heard late at night coming from Grimm’s Funeral Home. The long time community mortuary has been closed for further investigation into the Stillwater Killings.
The Doll Factory – Sybil Campos never had any children of her own, but always wanted to be a mother. To fulfill her lifetime dream, Sybil turned a childhood hobby of creating dolls into a career by growing one of the areas largest doll manufacturers and retail stores. Despite the large operation, Sybil ran the business herself never venturing outside of the factory. In fact, except for deliveries, no one was ever seen entering or exiting the complex. How could Sybil sustain a growing business on her own? Rumor around the town locals is that the dolls come to life!
The Field of Screams – Considered one of their most popular attractions, even a GPS won’t help you find your way of out this series of outdoor mazes. Finding a way out means going through the Voodoo Bayou, the Castle torture area and the floating Cannibal Island. But once you’re there, your problem becomes how to escape!
The Dark Terror-tory Haunted Hayride – If the other attractions have you tired of running, you can get on board a tractor drawn wagon and ride the Dark Terror-tory Haunted Hayride. The trail is approximately a mile long and filled with more than 30 sets that lead you through an abandoned amusement park, but you might find that the park is not abandoned after all! A mix of humor and scares, the ride is certainly not a normal Fall hayride through the quiet woods.
Hooded – Their most intense horror experience ever! Each patron is alone, blindfolded and oh yeah, the actors can touch you! Adults 18 and older only. You must sign a waiver. If you bail out of the attraction, you got what you paid for–an experience so intense you couldn’t handle it! No refunds. No chicken out passes. Good luck!
Mini Escape Rooms – The Niles Scream Park has adapted the popular escape room concept to their midway. A new twist is “speed escape rooms.” Fast paced and exciting, there will be several five-minute escape rooms open at the Park.
An improved midway will feature old favorites like the “X-terminator.” Back by popular demand is the buried alive simulator–“The Last Ride.” The midway also features several food concessions that provide enough variety to satisfy everyone’s cravings. The new Gift Shop will let you shop till you drop for the latest Halloween paraphernalia. The upgraded photo-op will offer 3D pictures for purchase to commemorate your night.
The Niles Scream Park is a non-profit community project that uses approximately 150 to 200 volunteers per night to staff its various attractions. These volunteers represent over 50 Michiana area community and school organizations. Since 1996, more than $1.8 million have been donated to local and nation non-profit organizations and to the Niles Scream Park funded college
scholarships for students at Niles, Brandywine, Dowagiac, Cassopolis and Edwardsburg High Schools.
