Plymouth Police Chief Dave bacon said this week the Plymouth Police Department has taken reports on 36 incidents of criminal mischief to vehicle in the city limits.
The first incidents were reported Monday morning and it is believed that between midnight and 5 a.m. more than a dozen reports were received of vehicle windows being shot by a BB gun or pellet gun.
On Tuesday, Plymouth Police took an additional 10 reports that happened during the overnight hours of Monday or early Tuesday morning. These cases were on the city’s west side including Lake Avenue, Wet LaPorte Street and West Washington Street.
On Wednesday the Plymouth Police Department posted a vehicle of interest on their Facebook page. The vehicle is off in the distance, taken from a security camera at the Lincoln Junior High.
Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact Detective Ben McIntyre at the Plymouth Police Department. The detective urges those working second shift or those who leave in the early morning hours to be vigilant and not only watch their own property but also keep an eye out for your neighbors.
Police say, while this is normally charged as a misdemeanor, depending on the extent of the damages once it’s all be assessed, the person responsible could be charged with a felony.
