Culver LibraryOn Saturday, September 15, “A PERFECT LIKENESS” open house will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Carnegie Room of the Culver-Union Township Public Library, 107 North Main Street in Culver. The room will be set up to assist you in learning about care and identification of family photographs. Learn about the techniques of image restoration of older photographs from library staff and discover how to transfer photos to the computer for safe-keeping.

This is also your chance to share your old photographs that relate to Culver or to Union township in Marshall County with your community! A team from Culver-Union Township Heritage (CUTH) will be there to scan your photo(s) and document the information to include in Indiana’s digital library, Indiana Memory. They will then return your photo with a copy of the high resolution image to you. For more details on this portion of the open house, contact CUTH member Julie Hollowell (812) 320-1887 or julie.ipinch@gmail.com.

In addition, the Indiana Historical Society’s traveling exhibit, A Perfect Likeness will be set-up at the library from September 14 through October 16. For questions, please contact Janet Winrotte at the library, or by phone (574) 842. 2941 or via email  jwinrotte@culver.lib.in.us. This event is free and open to the public; it is held in conjunction with People’s University of Marshall County.
