Mike MilelyMike Miley presented the Marshall County Commissioners with a proposal to hire him as a risk manager for the county’s property casualty insurance.   In the proposal Miley said he’s handled the county’s insurance for 30 years and understands their needs.  He would be work between the county and their insurance broker making sure the county has the appropriate insurance for a variety of issues.

Miley says he stays up-to-date on state legislation and can be sure the county is adequately insured as new requirement come into play.

The proposal is for $10,000 annually, although the contract would be month to month with either side having the opportunity to cancel.

Miley proposed an October 1st start date because that is when the county’s renewal process will start.  He would attend the monthly safety meetings and the commissioners asked him to report quarterly to them.

County Attorney Jim Clevenger will review the contract, which is the same as the one the City of Plymouth has with him and it’s anticipated the commissioner will approved the agreement at their August 20th meeting.
