Thursday morning, August 9th, Plymouth Police Officer Ray West was dispatched to the Marshall County Probation Department in reference to a male with an active arrest warrant.
The officer picked up 34 year old Scott Pike of Rochester who had two active warrants. Mr. Pike was arrested without incident, and lodged in the Marshall County Jail on the warrants and held on a $191 cash bond.
Thursday evening about 7 Plymouth Police were called Pioneer Auto at 2401 North Michigan Street for an unwanted guest. When officers arrived, 37 year old Craig Burnworth of Plymouth was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant out of Elkhart County for theft. Craig Brurnworth was transported to Marshall County Jail and held with NO BOND for Elkhart County.
Early Friday morning, about 12:30, Plymouth units were called to 300 North Kingston Road, The Pointe. Officers found 28 year old Michael Anthony Layton face down and unable to get to his feet. He admitted to taking some unknown drug.
EMS was called, and after giving dispatch his name it was discovered he had a felony warrant out of Marshall County for a probation violation.
Michael Layton was transported to St Joe Hospital Emergency Room by ambulance for treatment and medical clearance and then transported to the County Jail and held on the warrant with NO BOND.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
