school-board-meeting1Tuesday evening the Plymouth School Board voted unanimously to approve a contract with Saint Joseph Health System to continue to provide nurses for every school in the corporation. The contract calls for an annual increase of $1,700; however, it was noted that SJHS agree to lower some of the administrative costs and that the increase does, in part, compensate for pay increases for the nurses.

The school board also heard an update on the building project that will mean a new school for Lincoln Junior High. Presenting the updates was Derek Anderson, project manager from The Skillman Corporation. Anderson said the north and east parking lots have been completed with stone to allow work crews to enter and exit. He said paving will take place in the fall of 2019 as the project nears completion. According to Anderson, due to soil reports, they have installed 1,100 supports to hold the walls. If the expected timeline is met, the walls construction should begin in mid-August.

A temporary fence has been put in place around storm lines being installed for a proposed pond.

The project manager said much of the work already completed is underground such as utility lines and footings along with significant concrete work.
