PlymouthPublicLibrary_Heros VilliansThe Plymouth Public Library was 1 of 50 libraries across the nation toreceive a grant from PBS and ALA to participate in The Great American Read an eight-part seriesthat explores and celebrates the power of reading. Told through America’s 100 best-loved novels (aschosen in a national survey), the television series is comprised of a two-hour launch episode in which

the list of 100 books is revealed. Five one-hour theme episodes examine concepts common to groups of books on the list and a finale, in which the results of a nationwide vote to choose America’s best-loved book are announced. The series is the centerpiece of an ambitious multi-platform digital, educational and community outreach campaign, designed to get the country reading and talking passionately about books.

The Heroes vs. Villains Scavenger Hunt is the kickoff event for The Great American Read at Plymouth Public Library! Teams of 2-4 participants will pick whether they are “Heroes” or “Villains.”

Once they choose their fate, their scavenger hunt path is set. Teams will race to the finish as they answer clues, solve interactive puzzles, and build a life-size puzzle of their hero or villain!

The Heroes vs. Villains Scavenger Hunt is free to the public, however teams will need to sign-up prior to the event at the Adult Circulation Desk at the Plymouth Public Library. Participation certificates will be given to every team and prizes will be given to the top three teams with the fastest times.
