Plymouth Community SchoolsThe regular August Plymouth School Board meeting was in session for about 45 minutes on Tuesday, August 7.

The board heard a short report on the Emergency Plan from Ted Brown, director of safety and security.

Brown indicated that they were waiting on additional information to address unplanned fire evacuation and from the Threat Assessment Team before adding updates to the plan. He said they are tailoring a policy used at the Penn-Harrison system to help staff when they get a threat from a student.

Board member Larry Pinkerton asked if the PCSC would be using 10 metal detectors that are being provided by the state. Brown said that there would need to be two law enforcement officers in order to use them so that one could be separating an individual for questioning if indicated.

After the meeting, Brown said the units could possibly be used at some events.

Brown told the board that the state will be giving policy guidelines, if wanted.
