Local News 2017Marshall County is looking at over a half-a-million dollars in damage to bridges from the February flooding.

During Monday’s County Commissioner’s meeting, Jason Peters the Supervisor of Highways presented a quote from Rieth Riley Construction in South Bend.

There are a total of 18 bridges that need to be repaired. The quote from Rieth Riley’s for the repairs is $520,183.  It was noted that pricing was figured with the assistance of the county delivering the rip-rap. If the county would accept the quote, completion would be early November.

Peters said he has received quotes from a couple other companies but none of them bid on all 18 bridge projects.  He will gather all the quotes and present them to the commissioners at their next meeting.

No additional action was taken on the quote.

Peters said he gave FEMA the last of the requested information last week and the final determination on the county’s reimbursement should be known within a short time.
