Aquatic Center drawingThe Mayor of the City of Plymouth, Mark Senter announced Monday evening during the Common Council meeting the groundbreaking for three important developments; the community Aquatics Center, the new home for the Marshall County Community Foundation, and the Growing Kids Early Childhood Learning Center.

Last Friday afternoon about 3, Jerry Chavez, CEO and Executive Director of the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation announced the financing on the projects was closed.  He said, “There is much to be thankful for and I want to say thanks to everyone for your support and faith in the projects.  This is a HUGE win for the city of Plymouth and Marshall County too.”

This $11 million project is funded with public and private funds along with grants and federal tax credits.  Construction is expected to take 13 months.

The invitation only Groundbreaking ceremony will be held Wednesday, July 18th at 10 a.m.at the building site, 2864 Miller Drive on the city’s west side.  A reception following at ceremony will be held at The Zone.
