Denver and the Mile High Orchestra 7-10-18Do you recognize these guys?  If you were a fan of the show “The Next Great American Band” you should!  Denver and the Mile High Orchestra (DMHO) is a horn-driven band based out of Nashville, Tennessee. DMHO was formed by a group of friends at Belmont University in 1999. They have traveled across the world, playing at churches, conferences, and festivals. They have performed at two Olympic Games (2002-Salt Lake City, 2004-Athens), and were the house band at the 2005 Gospel Music Association Music Awards. DMHO finished third on The Next Great American Band, a “battle of the bands” reality show that aired on Fox in late 2007.

If you look closely, you will see some very familiar faces in the group.  Denver is a ’95 graduate of PHS and Josh Harner graduated PHS in ’97.  Denver said, “We’ve never really been a mainstream, pop radio band we’ve just tried to be a band that everybody could enjoy – a band for the American family. What could be better than being a band for the American family?”

And the future couldn’t be brighter for the Nashville based horn band. The band currently has two different television shows now in development, as well as multiple recording projects on the horizon. “After 16 years with DMHO, we are beginning to realize some of the dreams God had given me for this group back in the very beginning. I’ve never been more excited about what is to come”, said Denver.

Mayor Senter is excited to announce that DMHO will be helping us kick off the Christmas Season with a FREE community concert on Tuesday, November 27th at 6:30 pm.  The concert will take place at the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, Denver’s childhood church and where his parents still attend!

The PHS Music Department will be making guest appearances during the concert as well so you won’t want to miss this incredible night of family entertainment.
