road_workMarshall County Highway Supervisor, Jason Peters says chip and sealing will continue this week. County employees will be working on 6th Road from Juniper to Ironwood to Hawthorn.  They will then move over to Hickory Road from 7th Road, north up to 5th and then to Fir.

Peters said they will be putting 9’s over all these sections first, and then switch over to 11’s for the second seal.

Once these roads are completed the county will chip and seal on 7th Road from Fir to Jarrah and then moving to Plymouth Goshen and King Road to 106.

Please try to avoid these areas as much as possible, be cautious of road equipment, workers and loose stone.  Allow extra time to stop and try to avoid over accelerating to take off (don’t spin out) and slow down in curves, speeding through curves will push the stone and cause it to dislodge.  High speeds hurts chip and seal as it dislodges the stone.

Peters said, “Chip and seal needs time to cure (bond together). Slowing down helps this process tremendously. Thanks for your patience during this process.”
