mugshot-Brayan ZunigaA 23-year-old Marshall County man is being held in the Marshall County Jail after police were called to a Bourbon residence following a domestic dispute.  An arrest warrant for Brayan Zuniga was issued on May25, 2018 by Superior Court I Judge Robert Bowen for Count I: Kidnapping, as a Level 3 Felony; Count II Intimidation, as a Level 5 Felony and Count III, Domestic Battery, a Class A Misdemeanor. Judge Bowen fixed bail at $100,000 cash.

According to police records, a Marshall County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a Bourbon residence on 10 B Road regarding a domestic disturbance. Allegedly, Brayan Zuniga had battered his wife, Melisa Cruz, at the home of the babysitter of their two children.

Although Zuniga had left the residence prior to the arrival of the officer, statements from both Cruz and the homeowner concur that Zuniga had been in the residence, but had walked out as Cruz entered. As she exited the residence, Zuniga allegedly threatened her with a silver pocketknife, forced her into his vehicle and threatened to kill her. Additional statements show that after further struggle, Zuniga struck her with another knife and tackled her as she tried to escape.

Zuniga was later located and is being held at the Marshall County Jail.
