Lady Chargers blast Kennedy-King
CHICAGO, IL – The Ancilla Lady Chargers trounced the Kennedy-King Statesmen last night on the road, 88-38.
This was the first match-up between Ancilla Women’s Basketball and Kennedy-King.
Four members of the Lady Chargers’ team ended up in double figures. Sophomore Quaynika Merriweather led with 19 points. Freshmen Jaden Conard, Camryn Kopka, and LaRae Roscoe each scored 10 points apiece. The Chargers had 21 steals from the Statesmen in all.
“The players who came off the bench really did a nice job for us tonight,” said Head Coach Tom Robbins. “We got off a little slow, but when we put in our first round of substitutes, our energy and intensity really picked up. That put us in position to take the 25-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.”
Women’s basketball hits the court again this Saturday at Morton College at 2 p.m.
