Vargas Tased by City Officer

Plymouth Police carWednesday morning, September 2th an officer with the Plymouth Police Department had to taser an individual that was high on drugs. 

About 7:45 Officer Steve DeLee was flagged down and told of an intoxicated male walking on Michigan Street by the Parkside Mini Mart in the middle of the traffic lanes. 

Officer DeLee arrived on scene, and stopped his squad car in front of the subject with the emergency lights on.  He tried to get the male to move over and talk to him on the sidewalk, but the subject started walking and running away and yelling.  He continued to ignore the officer’s commands to stop and was tased.  The taser worked and 44 year old Adam Vargas stopped in the turn lane of the road and was taken into custody.

Plymouth EMS arrived and transported him to SJRMC-Plymouth.  The hospital was concerned with a high level chemical in his blood so he was admitted.
