Plymouth Police and Fire Department responded to a two vehicle accident on US 30 west of Oak Drive and east of the railroad tracks l about 6:15 Tuesday evening. The driver of one of the vehicle died at the scene.
Marshall County Coroner John Grolich said, “It appears that 64 year old James R. Michael of Lucerne, IN was east bound on US 30 in a pick-up truck when he had some type of medical emergency.” The truck he was driving drove through the median, had minor contact with the rear of a west bound semi and then drove down a steep embankment on the north side of US 30 coming to rest on its tires about 50 feet off the roadway.
Mr. Michael was pronounced dead at the scene by the County Coroner.
An elderly female passenger in the vehicle experienced some minor injuries and was treated and released at Saint Joseph Hospital in Plymouth.
