The request of Carl Stockberger to vacate a portion of Forest Drive off 11th Road was approved by the Marshall County Commissioners this week.
Ralph Booker, County Plan Director said the portion of Forest Drive was plated but has never been improved. The area sits along Stockberger’s west property line and is filled with trees that would require substantial work before a road could ever be built in the area.
Commissioner Kurt Garner asked if other developments to the north such as Eastwood Estates, Jackson Heights or Farmwood Estates had been requested to plat a road that would connect up to Forest Drive. He said, “It’s logical to have a road to connect to the other developments.”
Mr. Stockberger said the property directly to the north is an agricultural operation and the other developments are now where close to extending back far enough to need the connector road.
With no other public comments during the public hearing the commissioners motioned to vacate the platted road by suspending the rules and passing it on all three readings.
