City HallThe Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety will open quotes to replace the roof at the Ledyard Water Plant filter building and award the bid for the traffic light at South Michigan Street and Oak Hill Avenue during their meeting Monday evening.  The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.

Also on the Board of Works agenda are department head reports where Utility Superintendent Donny Davidson is seeking the purchase of a new combination sewer cleaner.

The board is also expected to approve resolution 201-3177 designating a handgun as surplus so that it can be transferred to retiring police officer Jim Cox.

The Common Council meeting begins at 6:30 with a number of agenda items.  The Council will consider an amendment to the Drug and Alcohol Policy and Testing Procedures and approve the Compliance Forms for the tax abatements of Aleck’s Home Medical and American Container.  Also on the agenda is an application for a Commercial Revitalization rebate by Wythougan Valley Preservation for the Rees Theatre and consideration of a proposal for Insurance consulting services for Mike Miley and a job compensation study.

The City Council will consider an ordinance amendment for the Plymouth Fire Department for increasing the pay of full-time firefighters and paramedics.

The Council is also expected to appoint Jenny Sickmiller to the Plymouth Economic Development Commission.
