The lawn of the Marshall County Courthouse has been adorned with blue pinwheels for Child Abuse Prevention Month.  National Child Abuse Prevention Month, also known as Child Abuse Prevention Month in America, is an annual observance in the United States dedicated to raising awareness and preventing child abuse. April has been designated Child Abuse Prevention Month in the United States since 1983.  Mayor Senter read a proclamation proclaiming April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Plymouth.

Child_Abuse_Prevention_Month_1The Mayor also read a proclamation for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.  Sexual Assault Awareness month occurs annually in April to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities on how to prevent it. Celebrating its 15th anniversary with the theme “Prevention is possible,” this campaign promotes actions that individuals, communities and the private sector can take to promote safety, respect and equality to stop sexual assault before it happens.

Prevent Child AbuseDiane Fisher from the Heminger House, April Cooper from Prevent Child Abuse Marshall County and Mayor Mark Senter helped place pinwheels on the lawn of the Court House.
