Friday morning J C Penney released the list of the 138 department stores they will be closing in an effort to cut costs and grow sales. The store in Plymouth is NOT on the list! The retailer is closing its weakest stores with hopes of growing sales even more at its strongest stores.
The cause for the reduction…..traditional department stores are losing market shares to the likes of Amazon and other discount chains.
In Indiana JC Penney stores closings include: Columbus, Connersville, Huntington, Jasper and Logansport.
