Summer FestThe 30th annual Bourbon Summerfest  is this weekend and offers fun with games, food, face painting, contests, and attractions guaranteed to capture the interest of all.

Festivities kick off Friday evening in the park with the Bourbon Summerfest Beauty Pageant at 7:30.   Girls age 6 through 13 that are Triton School students may participate.

Saturday morning things get going with a parade at 11.  Participants will gather at the high school parking lot at 9:30 if you are going to be judged and at 10:30 if you just want to be in the parade.

Both Saturday and Sunday there will be vendor booths, food and crafts, bounce houses, pony rides, a dunk tank and kids games sponsored by the Kiwanis.  Saturday hours are 10 to 10 and Sunday from 10 till 4.

Saturday evening the Stampede Stringband will perform at 5:30 and at 7:30 Quentin Flagg will perform his high-energy rock ‘n roll show paying tribute to the great music he grew up with.

Saturday night ends with fireworks hosted by the Bourbon Fire Department at dusk and free ice cream at the Triton Elementary School before the fireworks.

Sunday kicks off with the American Legion 424 Ladies Auxiliary breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 followed by a community church service at 11 with Pastor Rob Seawold of the Bourbon United Methodist Church.

The food and craft booths will be open along with activities for the kids.  Sunday also includes a Show and Shine Car Show and at 2 Lyda Scarberry and the Band BLT will perform.
