MugShot_Abair, JosiahDuring the evening hours of June 27th Officer Ben McIntyre with the Plymouth Police Department attempted to stop a moped with no headlights on Michigan Street near the U.S. 30 overpass in Plymouth. The moped refused to stop and a pursuit heading north on Michigan Street began.

Officer McIntyre pursued it northbound out of Plymouth where the moped then drove into a corn field near Veterans Parkway. The unknown driver abandoned the moped was left abandoned and was able to escape. The investigation revealed that the moped had been reported stolen on May 28 of this year.

Detective Leo Mangus with the Plymouth PD investigated the incident and as a resulted was able to get an arrest warrant issued for 20 year old Josiah Abair of Plymouth for Resisting Law Enforcement and Vehicle Theft on July 14th.

Det. Mangus located Josiah Abair on the morning of July 15 and he was then arrested with a cash bond of $3,000.00.
