City NEws

Last week members of the Plymouth Plan Commission approved a replat of the Neidlinger Park second section to allow New Song Community Church to build on the parcel.

During the June meeting of the Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals, New Song Church was granted a variance of special use to locate a new church building near the intersection of Baker and Richter Streets.

Currently there is an entrance into the 11 acre site off Baker Street but engineer Mike Strang said the church was seeking a second outlet for the facility.

A couple neighbors spoke with concerns of additional traffic while church members spoke in favor of the replat noting the church’s community outreach and additional traffic limited to mainly sundays.

Plan Commission member Beth Pinkerton motioned to approve the replat with a single access on Baker Street and the additional outlet on either Richter Road or New York Street which isn’t constructed. She did stipulate that if the sale of the property didn’t go through the site would revert back to the original plot. Her motion passed with a unanimous decision.
