Tuesday afternoon, Mary Ankrapp, Blood Donor Recruitment Specialistwith the South Bend Medical Foundation said, “We are so grateful for our partnership with the Mayor office of Plymouth. We cannot thank them enough for providing this community service by hosting a blood drive with The Medical Foundation.”
This past Saturday the Medical Foundation was at the Farmers’ Market with they mobile unit and collected 26 units of blood and had 7 deferrals.
One unit of blood can save the lives of up to 3 people; a total of 78 people could potentially benefit from Saturday’s drive. The blood collected will go to help recipients suffering from cancer, trauma, blood disorders, surgery, pregnancy complications, or several other medical emergencies right here in Marshall County and close by in Saint Joseph County.
