A high speed vehicle pursuit early Saturday morning lead police through four counties before the suspect was apprehended.

Just after 2 a.m. Bourbon Police Officer Matt Geiger attempted to stop an older white Honda at State Road 331 and State Road 10 for several traffic violations.

The driver, identified as Daniel R. Nifong of Plymouth led police on a 60 mile chase through four counties with speeds over 100 mph. Nifong went from Marshall County to Kosciusko County back to Marshall and then through Fulton County to Wabash County where stop sticks were deployed and Nifong eventually lost all four tires and spun out into a grassy area on State Road 13 just south of State Road 114 where he was placed into custody without incident.

Mr. Nifong also had his sister as a passenger who was released at the scene. He was taken to the Marshall County Jail and charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, Forgery for having a homemade paper license plate, and Driving While Suspended with a Prior Conviction. He was given a court date and a cash bond of $2000.

A CRIMINAL CHARGE IS MERELY AN ACCUSATION.  EVERY DEFENDANT IS PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL OR UNLESS PROVEN GUILTY.
