Mayor's Blood DonationEvery second someone in the world needs a blood transfusion.  Mayor Mark Senter hosted a blood drive last weekend at the Farmers’ Market to fulfil the local needs of patients.

The results of the Blood Drive were a total number of successful donors of 24 and 6 citizens who tried to donate but were deferred.

Since one unit of blood can save the lives of up to 3 people; a total of 72 people could potentially benefit from the Mayor’s blood drive.  What an amazing impact the drive will have on patients in need.  The blood collected will go to help recipients suffering from cancer, trauma, blood disorders, surgery, pregnancy complications, or several other medical emergencies.
