DONALDSON, IN – Amanda Heckaman, daughter of Amy and Derick Heckaman, recently signed her National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Letter of Intent to play soccer at Ancilla College. Heckaman, the 5’2” forward, lettered three years at Northwood High School and received First Team All NLC honors, All NLC Honorable Mention, was a three time scholar athlete, and a two time Most Valuable Player recipient. She also played two times in the Indiana North vs. South All-Star game, and was the 2015 Most Valuable Player of the Indiana North vs. South All-Star game where she scored three goals for the game. In her senior year, Heckaman scored 10 goals. Overall, she recorded 18 career goals along with 11 assists. Ancilla head coach Justin Crew commented on Heckaman’s signing, “I am extremely excited to have Amanada join our women’s soccer family. She is a very good player that brings an attacking presence we did not have this past season. We just got better today. I am confident Amanda will make an immediate impact to our program.” “ Ancilla was close to home,” remarked Heckaman on why she chose Ancilla. “It’s small and everything about the atmosphere and the soccer team just felt right to me.” IMG_0319While at Ancilla College, Heckaman plans to major in Health Science.
