WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representive Jackie Walorski (IN-02) announced this week’s honoree for her ‘Who’s Who in IN-02’ initiative. During a speech on the House floor, Walorski thanked Fulton County Pharmacist Harry Webb for his dedication to curbing the meth epidemic that has taken Indiana by storm.

Harry, along with the Citizens Action Committee, is working to curb meth production by partnering with local and state officials and pharmacies to reduce sales of pseudoephedrine, the active ingredient in meth. They have also begun to market drug abuse resistant products to their customers.

“In 2013, Indiana had more meth incidents than any other in state in the U.S. This is a critical issue, and I am grateful for Harry’s dedication and work to reduce the amount of meth labs in our communities,” Walorski said. “On behalf of the people of the Second Congressional District of Indiana, I thank Harry Webb and the Citizens Action Committee for their meth lab reduction program and service to our state.”

Earlier this year, Walorski supported legislation to combat drug abuse.  H.R. 2805, the Heroin and Prescription Opioid Abuse Prevention, Education, and Enforcement Act of 2015, creates a task force comprised of experts across the medical profession to develop best practices and strategies to prevent prescription opioid abuse from occurring.
