absentee votingAbsentee voting in Marshall County is now under way in the Clerk’s Office in the Court House.  With this being a municipal primary with a limited number of races and voters, the Marshall County Election Board is saving money by only opening absentee voting on Mondays AND Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A lot of folks believe absentee voting is open Monday through Friday, but that’s not the case, it’s only Monday AND Friday.

The Clerk’s Office will also be open for absentee voting on Saturday, April 25 and Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Voters in Plymouth will have their choice to select a Democratic or Republican ballot in the primary.

The Democrats have a race for Mayor between Rex A. Crump and Anthony P. (Tony) Gamble.  Other candidates on the Democratic ticket include Gary L. Cook, Jeffery R. Houin and Joshua Walker for the three City Council At-Large seats and Shiloh Fonseca for City Council District 3 seat.

The only race on the Republican ticket in the primary is for the three City Council At-Large seats with four candidates.  They include incumbent Mike Delp, and Christopher R. Berdahl, Burke L. Richeson, and Bill Walters.

Incumbent Mayor Mark Senter isn’t being challenged in the primary and neither is Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine M. Xaver.  City Council candidates on the Republic ticket are all Incumbents: Duane L. Culp in District 1, Don Ecker, Jr. for District 2, Wayne A. Smith in District 3 and Shawn Grobe for District 4.
