ISP_logo_1The Indiana State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who assaulted an Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) worker on Friday, November 7th around 11:15 a.m. The assault happened in the southbound lane of State Road 331 just south of Bourbon in a construction zone.

The INDOT worker who was assaulted was sitting in his truck on lunch break when he saw a white male driving a red or maroon Ford truck drive around the barricades that were blocking the road. The worker stepped out of his vehicle to stop the driver because it appeared that he drove over some equipment. The worker advised the driver of the red truck struck him with the driver’s side mirror and then stopped exiting the truck and yelling profanities at him. The INDOT worker stated that the man approached him and struck him several times in the face with his fist.

The worker, who is not being identified at this time, received severe bruising and lacerations to his face. The suspect then fled back to his truck and left southbound on SR 331. The victim reported that there was no damage to the pickup truck.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 40 to 50 years old, 6 feet tall weighing about 250 pounds. The suspect was wearing a flannel shirt and blue jeans. He is also described as having short hair that was beginning to gray.
