MugShot_wayne nicholsFriday evening just before 10 County Police Officer Jonathan Bryant attempted to stop a pick-up truck on Queen Road just north of State Road 110 for an equipment violation. The truck refused to stop and a short pursuit ensued.

The driver, 39 year old Wayne Nichols of Rochester drove the truck down a long residential gravel lane at a high rate of speed and struck a concrete embankment. He then exited the car and tried to flee on foot but was apprehended by county police officers.

Wayne Nichols was treated at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth for non-life-threatening injuries and then transported to the Marshall County Jail.  He was booked into the jail for operating after a lifetime suspension, resisting law enforcement with a vehicle weapon, and possession of methamphetamine. His bond was set at $20,505 cash and he has a November 18th Superior Court I date for his initial hearing.
