To catch A PreditorMore information emerged on Friday concerning the substitute that had been working at the Plymouth Schools. When administrators at PCSC received information about criminal activity that the substitute was involved with in another state, they immediately took action to ban him from all Plymouth Schools property.

Apparently the same male substitute had been working at the Penn-Harris-Madison Schools as well. According to information released by P-H-M, they learned that the man had been arrested several years ago in Texas for soliciting sex from a minor. Parents of P-H-M students were notified by email on Friday.

A TV viewer in Argos saw the substitute’s face on a nationally televised TV show NBC’s “Dateline: To Catch a Predator”- and contacted the Plymouth Schools. Plymouth Schools administrators contacted P-H-M to inform them of the information that they had received.

The Dateline episode showed video of the man and he was identified as a teacher.

Once the information came to light, the district was able to confirm that the man lives in Warsaw.

Confusion on why the criminal background check did not show the previous arrest was cleared up after finding that the changes against him in Texas were dropped due to a technicality. Since he was not prosecuted, there would be no criminal record.

According to information given out by P-H-M Schools, the former substitute has been removed from their system.

Plymouth Schools Assistant Superintendent Dan Funston said the man was served a no trespass order by law enforcement that prohibits him from entering any Plymouth School’s property.

In reviewing the most recent Plymouth Community School Board meeting agendas where they list and approve substitutes for the corporation, the October 7th agenda include several names of males.  Using that list, information from the P-H-M email to parents and Goggling those details with Dateline’s To Catch a Predator, WTCA was able to locate the You Tube video of the show where Stanley Kendall was caught soliciting a 13 year old male.

Kendall was arrested and interviewed by Texas police during the Dateline show.  An apparent technicality caused charges against him to be dropped and he was not prosecuted and therefore apparently doesn’t have a criminal record.
