On Thursday, October 9th Student from the Weidner School of Inquiry; Sara Smith, Rachel Rettig, Katie McDonald, and Heather Borggren attended a resume builder workshop at WorkOne. The idea started when Rachel and Sara were looking for inspiration for their club, RAVE. RAVE stands for Resumes Applications Volunteering, Etc. The workshop was the perfect jump start for the club.
The workshop covered the different types of resumes such as chronological, functional, and combination. It also covered what to avoid and what to include in your resume. The students learned that building and constantly updating a resume is very important when looking for a job. Resume-building is a vital skill for teenagers who are entering the workforce for the first time. The students are excited to bring this information and more back to RAVE.
