GasLeak_OakDrive_1Plymouth Fire Department managed a gas leak on Oak Drive between Jim Neu Drive and PIDCO Monday afternoon. Traffic is being rerouted because Oak Drive is still closed.
GasLeak_OakDrive_2At 12:22 Michiana Contracting called in a 9-1-1 to the Marshall County Dispatch Center reporting a gas line break on the east side of Oak Drive between Crossroads Church and Farm Bureau Insurance.
GasLeak_OakDrive_5Michiana Contracting is installing the Metronet conduit project for the City of Plymouth and accidentally hit an unmarked gas line while boring the conduit underground. Traffic has been stopped in both directions since the incident and rerouted using PIDCO Drive and Jim Neu.
GasLeak_OakDrive_3The Niles Lankford Group, Farm Bureau and Crossroads Church were evacuated as a precaution.
GasLeak_OakDrive_4NIPSCO called in a crew from Bourbon to repair the leak which was capped just about 6. There is significant street damage from the pressure and is it unclean how long the street will be closed.  NIPSCO is replacing the line instead of just repairing it.
