03/28/14 During Monday’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting bids will be opened on several street projects. At the request of Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt and City Engineer Rick Gaul they wanted to start the projects earlier this year.
Streets set to have work completed on them first include this year include West Jefferson Street in two locations…Fifth Street to Walnut and from the west corporate limits easterly to the intersection of Oak and Jefferson.
South Michigan Street will see improvements from just south of Eastwood to just north of Oakhill Avenue.
Also on the project list are Garro Street and LaPorte Streets around River Park Square to finish up the project.
City Engineer Rick Gaul said, “These projects are typically mill and fills with curb and ramp upgrades as needed.”
