02/10/14 The Marshall County Museum Brown Bag Lunch Series will kick-off with Lilly Endowment recipient, Anna Liechty, presenting an in-depth story of an historical figure from this area in the 1800’s known as “The Huckleberry Queen.”

Call a friend and bring your sack lunch to the museum for the first of a 2-part series starting on Friday, February 14from 12- 1!    Anna Liechty will explore interesting stories confirmed while researching a book about the folklore of “The Huckleberry Queen,” adventures about an intriguing local historic character.

  Disparaged by local media of that time period, the Huckleberry Queen haunted the marshes of Tyner, rubbing elbows with the “gypsies, tramps and thieves” of the swampy Marshall County countryside.
