01/17/14 One of Marshall County’s most highly anticipated events is once again on the horizon.

On January 25 Swan Lake will host the sixth annual Dancing with the Stars all for the benefit of the Marshall County Neighborhood Center.

Many of Marshall County’s Star dancers have been paired with professional partners and choreographers for a rehearsed a performance. The winner is determined by your votes with the proceeds for the evening going to help the Neighborhood Center and their daily work with those in need in Marshall County.

For the last five years, this has been the formal event of the year and has been a great night out for a good cause. Once again the luxurious Swan Lake Resort will be the host. A delicious buffet will provide a unique and top flight dinner experience and many from all over the county will come to support a good cause.

All proceeds go to benefit the Marshall County Neighborhood Center’s primary programs like the food pantry and the Five Star program.

The demand for food pantry services is growing fast. While the national economy seems to be ceasing its decline, the local economy is still lagging. The Neighborhood Center needs expanded support to meet the enormous and growing need.

Part of the way the Center works to sustainably bridge a family out of a period of poverty is with solid mentoring following a foundation of trust.

Five Star is a coaching program teaching the values that breed success to middle school and junior high students. The program is now in its third season at Plymouth’s Lincoln Junior High. Once again, this event will provide the seed money to fund the coming school year for that program.

You can help even if you can’t attend the event by voting online at www.events.org/neighborhoodcenter. Each vote is $20. Tickets are $75 for dinner and the evening.
